Memo Market
Memo Market: ‘a celebration of Sheffield must-haves’
The first event of it’s kind; Memo Market was an eclectic mix of fashion, life and style, food, art, music, all together in one place for a one-stop ‘market’ shop spot for essential Sheffield must-haves. A 2-day festival hosted June 09 was a celebration with the brands and people who make up Sheffield.
A total of 42 brands bringing the coolest and on-trend things to buy, things to do and treats to eat. Hosted over 2 days on the piazza of Devonshire Green, the City’s beautiful open grassy space, Memo Market was the ultimate gathering place for some of the best brands of Sheffield to sell and promote.
A specially created brand made by LARK and design and branding studio 93ft on behalf of CreativeSheffield. Memo Market branding and identity incorporates familiar icons and reminders of Sheffield which are based around the most recognisable memory jog – the humble yet iconic post-it note!
To visualise Memo Market, 93ft and LARK brought in the creative talents of Nick Deakin, a local artist and illustrator whose work has been used internationally for clients such as Shell, Coca-Cola, The New York Times and Orange. His depiction of how Memo Market should look combined with design by 93ft has captured the imagination of Sheffield and beyond.
Memo Market is the brainchild of Creativesheffield & LARK who have created the market as a platform for brands to stand up and show their product. Sally Clark from LARK specialises in championing lifestyle brands is keen to point out the style of the 2 day event ‘ we have designed Memo Market to reflect the brands we have involved – it’s taking the shape of a mini 2 day festival as brands have seized the opportunity to be as creative and imaginative as possible’.
